Wheelchair-accessible beaches in Málaga province
Málaga has seven beaches that are wheelchair-accessible and where people with disabilities or reduced mobility can enjoy a well-deserved holiday. We list them all.
Two of these adapted beaches are Playa El Dedo at El Palo and Playa La Misericordia in western Málaga. These places have assisted baths with devices that guide people to the sea. In addition, there are monitors that specialize in sign language. These services are available every day until 14 September from 12:00 to 19:00.
Autonomous seaside resorts
Five beaches are autonomous seaside resorts with access to water for disabled and disabled people. These are the following places: Guadalmar, San Andres, La Malagueta, Pedregalejo and El Palo. Here are rescue workers who ensure that chairs and amphibious stools are free and easily available. These locations also have reserved disabled parking spaces, special toilets and showers and adapted children’s games. There is also a beach in Torremolinos, a town fifteen kilometres from the centre of Málaga.
Service for the blind
Málaga is one of the few cities where a beach visit for the blind is made easier. At Playa El Dedo and Playa La Misericordia there is a small acoustic device available that can be compared to a clock. This machine informs the person about the depth of the water and distance to the coast.
